Hi everyone! My name is Billy Bob. I just arrived in my foster home in NJ this afternoon. I came all the way from KS on a big truck and I'm just starting to settle in. When I arrived in NJ, I went straight to the vet for my heartworm treatment. I'm not really sure what heartworm is. All I know is that they stuck me with big needles that made me very sleepy and sore. The good news is I'm already starting to feel better! My foster mom says I'm not allowed to run around or get too worked up for the next 2 weeks to ensure my recovery goes smoothly. I can't wait until I can run and play again though.
So far, so good here in my new temporary home. I've been sleeping and resting most of the day, but my foster mom and I were able to get out on this beautiful day and explore. I checked out every inch of the yard here and enjoyed finding fun stuff to sniff. Then I got to meet my foster brother and sisters. We only got to meet for a short time, but things went well. I really like my foster sister, Sky. She is a very friendly, 9 month old GSP. I can't wait until I am able to run around and play with her. I know we will have lots of fun.
I'm still a little shy with my foster family. I don't really know them that well yet and I want to make sure I am able to trust them. I have to say though, I am loving all the attention. I really want to be by someone's side and I love to be scratched and pet. My foster mom was scratching behind my ears and it felt so good that I almost fell over! Good thing she let me lean on her!
I'm a little big for a GSP at 80lbs, but my foster mom says I'm not overweight. I just need to tone up a little. I'm not going to be your typical lean GSP boy, but I don't mind. I'm unique! I know how to sit already and we are going to start working on some other commands. My foster mom told me she's very impressed because I am fabulous in my crate. I don't fuss at all. I also love to sleep on a dog bed and I pretty much stay put and rest. Once I'm feeling better, I'll have more energy...and I'm always going to want to cuddle!
